spring top week

Oh man, I had so much fun participating in the Mystery Purse Sew-Along with Lola...again that I'm going to join in on Spring Top Week hosted by Made By Rae. Wanna join in the fun? Oh, come on, you know you want a cute, new, springy top. You can use a pattern that you bought, make your own pattern, or for fun you could use an open source sewing pattern from BurdaStyle. There's so much great fabric out there just waiting for you. Now, don't worry, you don't have to make a top from start to finish during Spring Top Week, you just need to finish by then. You can start right now! Yes, now! Go ahead. Grab your car keys and go to the fabric store or dig through your stash, choose something fabulous and dive right in! I'll be using a pattern that I purchased last fall when there was a huge sale...Simplicity 4589. I think it'll be a fun little top, plus I have the perfect fabric in my stash so it'll be super springy!Made By Rae also has a free pattern available on her blog for a cute little purse call the Buttercup Bag. I may have to make a matching bag to go with the spring top. Ya know, with all my leisure time. HA!

Well while you have all that free time you can just whip one up for me(grin) The patter looks WAY CUTE!!! I think I had better not take it on as we are moving soon and I do not think that my husband would be happy if I started more projects.... well more then I already have going:)

the FLOWERS are really cute; from your own yard right? I love the idea of making a new top but I finally got my little computer and I need to make a new carrying case for it. Love Big G

I've seen this in blogland ... I'm thinking about it ... I have several tops I want to make - but I'm for some reason commitmentphobic!

Ok, this is a fun idea! I was thinking last night about making myself a top from some fabric I was using for my girls... now I need to dig through my patterns ;)
